Four Directions from Hunters Point, 2019
Commissioned by the City of New York, Department of Cultural Affairs Percent for Art Program
Four optical portals embedded in the walls and ceiling of the Hunters Point Community library. Each portal frames and transforms a different view throughout the library. Each site is subtitled for the direction it looks and the optical transformation that occurs. The images in the portals are ever-changing, dependent on weather and light conditions, and the movement of people and objects in view.
